The Quetzal Cancun

I had a lovely stay at this cozy little hotel nestled in downtown Cancun. The location is fantastic—just a short stroll from Parque de las Palapas, where you’ll find vibrant street food vendors, live performances, and a great local atmosphere in the evenings. The hotel itself feels more like a home than a business. The rooms are spotlessly clean and warmly decorated, with thoughtful touches that give them a personal, welcoming vibe. It’s clear the owners take real pride in their place—they're incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel at home, offering great local tips and always greeting me with a smile. If you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable, and authentic stay in Cancun away from the touristy hotel zone, this is the place. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem away from the crowds in the hotel zone, the Quetzal is an oasis of beauty where we enjoyed the local people, foods and hospitality. The owner is an artist, and it shows in every area, with her paintings adorning the walls and amazing decorative details everywhere you look. The chef is an artist as well, providing delicious breakfasts made to order, presented beautifully!

Stayed in March 2025. What a great place. Quirky, artsy rooms and common areas filled with light, art and plants. Fantastic and varied breakfast every morning. Super friendly and accomodating staff ready to assist and advise. Good location near the park and the main square, and well services by the main bus routes. Overall a great stay.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The service is top-level: friendly and caring. Breakfasts included in the price are delicious, fresh and beautifully prepared every day. The building itself is stunning with great design and atmosphere and the beds are extremely comfortable perfect for real rest. Everything exceeded expectations. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place!

Its strategic positioning, a mere 10-minute stroll from the bus station and a brief 5-minute jaunt to access the transit leading to the coveted Hotel Zone, renders it a prime choice for travelers. Surrounded by a plethora of supermarkets and an array of culinary delights, convenience is paramount. The accommodations exude cleanliness and spaciousness, accentuated by the allure of private terraces, affording guests a personal sanctuary. While the breakfast offerings are satisfactory, comprising standard fare such as coffee, fruits, granola, and eggs, it adequately fuels the day's adventures. However, it is the impeccable service of the staff that truly distinguishes this establishment. Their warmth and attentiveness elevate the guest experience, embodying the epitome of hospitality. Without a doubt, this establishment stands as the pinnacle of my sojourn in Mexico.

Perfect! They also let us check in extremely early while we only hoped to drop off the luggage and discover the city until check in time.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Mexico! The owner and her son are absolutely wonderful! The housekeeper and chef do amazing also! This is my 2nd stay there and I will be back many more times!

If you want to stay in the centre of Cancun, then look no further. This is a lovely boutique hotel set in lovely gardens with a pool. The rooms are spacious and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. The fantastic breakfasts are a real treat, skip lunch after filling up on fruit and eggs and home made bread. Plentiful on street parking. The exterior is graffiti covered steel and cement but don't be put off this place is a gem. One negative. The WiFi is very slow.
